Official Setup Portal for Your Ledger Hardware Wallet
Lédger®.com/start is the official onboarding portal for setting up your Ledger hardware wallet. This is the only legitimate starting point for initializing your device, creating a secure PIN, and backing up your 24-word Secret Recovery Phrase.
The setup process takes approximately 10–15 minutes and guides you through every step:
- Connect your device via USB or Bluetooth (Nano X, Flex, Stax)
- Choose a PIN code – 4 to 8 digits (8 digits recommended for maximum security)
- Write down your 24-word Secret Recovery Phrase – this is the only backup for your funds. Store it offline and never take a photo or save it digitally
- Confirm your phrase on the device screen
- Download Ledger Live – the official companion app for managing your crypto
- Install apps and add accounts for the assets you want to manage
🔒 Critical Security Rule: Ledger will never ask for your 24-word recovery phrase. Never enter it into any website, app, or chat – it must only be entered on your Ledger device screen. If a site asks for it, you are on a phishing page – stop immediately and report it.
